Dr. Jason Hoeksema of the University of Mississippi Biology Department kicked off the 2023 Spring Gardening Lecture Series with a great presentation on “Mushrooms and Other Fungi” on March 9. Dr. Hoeksema gave some general information about fungi and mushrooms and specific directions for identifying them in the wild.
FALL LECTURE 2022
The Lafayette County Master Gardeners hosted a Fall Lecture on Saturday October 8th. Matt Nielson and Nate Venarske were the guest speakers and provided wealth of information on landscape design and maintenance, co-existing with deer and other wildlife, and the use of native plants, We welcomed 71 Master Gardeners and guests and hope to make this an annual event.
