Spring Garden Lecture Series
The 6th annual Master Gardener Spring Lecture Series began on Thursday, March 31, at noon at the University Museum on the Ole Miss Campus. The remaining lectures will be held on the four succeeding Thursdays. Below are some scenes from the first lecture.
2010 Christmas Luncheon
Thanks to Intern Barbara Bordelon for the fabulous decorations! The Master Gardeners had never seen the Extension Auditorium looking so elegant! And thanks to Cecilia Gold and Sarah Loftin Miller for the great photographs!
On December 6, a large crowd of Master Gardeners, Interns, and Guests gathered for the annual potluck Christmas luncheon. The Membership Committee, chaired by Intern Nina Patrick, coordinated all the details of the luncheon. Barbara Bordelon handled the decorations and Cecilia Gold was in charge of the "Dirty Santa" ornament game. The game was great fun, the food was delicious, and the fellowship was outstanding!
Members voted on the slate of officers for 2011 at the beginning of the gathering, and the results of the election were announced at the conclusion of the lunch and game. Officers for 2011 are President, Kathryn Clark; Vice-President, Dianne Fergusson; Recording Secretary, Joe Ann Allen; Corresponding Secretary, Cissy Johnson; Treasurer, Julia O’Haver.

MASTER GARDENER PROJECTS
Veterans Memorial Park - Veterans Drive
Lafayette County Master Gardeners have been involved with the planning and design of this Memorial Park for the past year. This park is located across from the Mississippi State Veterans Home on Veterans Drive. Project Co-Chairs Fran Woodard and Joe Ann Allen have been meeting with the garden planners and offering suggestions on design and plant selection. On Tuesday, November 9, the Project Leaders scheduled the first work day at the site. A number of Master Gardeners joined the project leaders for several hours of intense work in preparing soil for the planting beds around the gazebo and entrance sign.

Burns Belfry - Jackson Avenue

FARMERS MARKET CONSULTATIONS
Lafayette County Master Gardeners staff information tables at the Oxford Farmers’ Market twice a month and at the Taylor Farmers’ Market once a month during the season.
