NEW MASTER GARDENER CLASS FORMING!!!!
It's that time again for the Master Gardener training classes. The session for 2019 will begin on Feb. 19 and run through March 26th. They'll be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1pm - 5pm. The fee for the session is $100 to cover educational materials.
In exchange for 40 hours of educational training, individuals are required to return 40 hours of volunteer service within one year of their training. This service should include helping County Extension offices with horticultural projects that benefit their local communities.
Continuing education is offered to encourage long-term commitments. The Master Gardener approach helps the local Extension office reach a broader audience that is possible with only or two agents. Volunteers help extend the educational arm of Mississippi State University to the public by providing horticultural information based on University research and recommendations. The Lafayette County Master Gardeners Association is an active, dynamic organization composed of skilled and experienced gardeners who enjoy sharing their expertise with others in the community.
